Boutique winery writing a new chapter

Franić family has an extensive history in winegrowing and winemaking.

Until 2000s, wine was not commercial. It was made for family and friends only. But as every generation brings something new, ambitious and young Goran Franić wrote a new chapter of wine history in Vrgorac.

Our History

Goran, our founder, after graduating at agriculture engineering studies in Sarajevo in 1992, moved to Vrgorac where he soon found himself in the midst of the Homeland war.
After serving his country, he married and moved to Brač for his first job, but it wasn’t what he expected.
Goran decided to return to his village near Vrgorac in 1996 where he started growing apples and plums.
Even with an orchard business, family had three plots of land with vineyards. However, after 10 years, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of making a premium wine.

Our adventures

Goran consulted his school colleagues to make a decision about grape variety for his wine-making journey
His quest led him to discover the almost extinct Trnak grape
In 2007, we planted 2000 vines of Trnak grape.
First premium red wine from Trnak in Croatia was made in 2011, commercial one was in 2012
In 2013, we added around 3000 vines of Rukatac grape to our vineyard.
In 2016, we upgraded our Trnak grape production volume with new 7500 plants developed using the old and reliable grafting technique.
With a vision of white flagship, we started Zlatarica grape production in 2018

Brand philosophy

Just as raw crystals become precious when refined, we transform wine grapes into extraordinary wine through careful cultivation and processing. Similar to how a crystal’s value rises with cutting and polishing, our wine becomes exceptional with time and effort.

Everyone has a hidden potential; growth happens when we learn and apply our knowledge, like turning an uncut stone into a gem.

Diamond is reflection of our brand’s values – the idea that true value is in the journey of creation itself.

It reminds us anything is possible with the right mindset and dedication, and true value of a product lies in the experience it provides to the consumer.

We embody this same spirit of transformation and innovation in everything we do.
